Great neighborhood, bad, bad house.
Since I have clients who are looking for fixer uppers these days, I have been, and will be blogging about fixer uppers in the San Mateo county area.
His house is located in the desirable White Oaks neighborhood in the city of San Carlos. It is 1,730 sq ft on a 7,500 sq ft lot. It is 67 years old, and is also in need of a brave soul to bring it back to livable condition.
The previous owner did quite a bit to the house, but of course all to his/her personal tastes. There are additions on top of more additions to the house, and none of them looked like it was build properly or with permits. My clients have been looking for a San Mateo County fixer upper, they are interested in a project where they can live in, and take their time to make improvements to the house.
This house has all the right stuff on paper: the lot size, the great neighborhood, and good school, and the possibility to expand the floor plan... except that it is not in a habitable condition what so ever. None of the toilets are working, and there are just too many dangerous elements with the house as well, the broken fence, the swimming pool, and the non-permitted structures that are falling apart...
So, we are moving on.
